A Sherlock

Do you know a Sherlock?? Sure you do. You probably work with one, or maybe there’s one in your family. Maybe your best friend is a Sherlock. Or, maybe you’re a Sherlock! A Sherlock is someone who can’t mind their own business and always has to know what’s going on with other people. They’re always tip-toeing around, talking behind people’s backs, trying to get to the bottom of any rumour that doesn’t even concern them. They have to be in ‘the know’ and love to gossip. They are actually professional gossipers, if there was such a word. They say a lot of things like "Well, I heard that the reason she quit is because she was on performance counselling" or "I hear he has a real drinking problem, that's why she won't go out with him any more". Next time you see a Sherlock, do them a favour and open-palm slap them real hard in the ear for me.
