It costs too much to get home...and artists deserve to get paid for their work!

I just need a place to get this off my chest!!! I work freelance so I can have my own hours so I can go home to visit when I need to because my father is very sick. I need to be here to go to school(so I can get a job that actually pays)...So here I am stuck and I can't go home to see my father because I am completely broke. 3 months behind on rent and a mountain of bills that I can't pay. I can't even afford stupid penny candy so I'm starving!!! People who look for artists like me to do freelance work for them think that it's okay to either not pay me for work I've done and just disappear or pay me shit because they don't think art is worth paying for?! I am a professional(7 years), I do very good work, and I need to live! I need to go home! I need to pay my bills! I am so frustrated at this point, I just don't know what to do any more.
