(SPOILERS) Last 3/4 of Death Note

I know that this is old news, however I just finished the anime today, and I am really pissed off. Well, it's not just the ending that sucked, but after L died, the whole anime went downhill.

Firstly: Near. I can't believe they'd insult such a great character like L with some "detective" that plays with toys and won't even risk his life for society. Sure, Near may have "caught" Kira, but that took him, what, SIX YEARS?! It took L 2 years to find out how Kira killed and took one incounter to suspect Light. >.> Not to mention that Near already knew how Kira killed people. All Near really did was take off where L was, yet they make it seem like he started from scratch.

Light also became really stupid at the end. Light risked EVERYTHING on Mikami, who was stupid enough to not have a scrap piece of Death Note in his pocket or something. Wasn't Mikami suppossed to be smart? But back to Light: After 6 years, he's still hanging around the Investigation Team? Why would he do that?! Sure, it's a "cover," but honestly, the team hasn't found anything pointing towards him in SIX FUCKING YEARS. Just ditch them already. Also: Light knew the possiblity of a fake Death Note; why didn't he do antyhing about it!?

To the ending: Sucked. Big time. I'm fine with Light dying, and even him getting shot by Mastuda (it shows the development of Mastuda) but getting caught BY NEAR? If anyone, it should have been L. The whole show is the battle of Kira and L, not Kira and N. Not to mention that Light started blabbing like a maniac when he was in unsafe grounds. Light was so stupid, it was almost funny. Almost. However, I must point this out: Light struggles when trying to kill L, yet has no problem to kill N? It makes no sense.

In general: The writers only made loopholes in the Death Note when it moved the story along. It never was trouble to Light when he had to dodge knowledge of the Death Note. I'd like to see him actually struggle trying to avoid something. And the whole "Two Death Notes" thing was okay, but too confusing.

I did read the alternate ending, which I preffered 100 times better. I think that that ending should be made into the anime. For me, the anime ended at episode 26, when L died. Still, it was a great anime. The last 3/4 was just a major insult to everyone, though.
