this ties in strongly with my beliefs in moderation, seriously it does. and i shouldn't have to describe what violence is, it's the first thing anyone REALLY learns.

when you hear of violence, ten bucks says it's on the back of a movie box with a t or a pg-13 next to it describing all the "good" things about the show. it was put there because in some form or another, the movie contains one person physically harming another. somewhere along the lines we decided that this was a very bad thing to happen to anyone. but i don't think it is.

the industrialized world would have you believe that it's possible to take a wife beater, send him to prison where he does nothing but stare at a wall for 23 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year (not accounting for leap year) for five years talking to no one else except people who had done the same or worse. then make him a free man and expect him to never do it again.

that shit doesn't happen, if you want a wife beater to quit it, you punch him in the face until he quits beating his wife. one way or another. contrary to what is believed right, this is right!it's how this shit was dealt with since the dawn of time and it's how it should be dealt with these days.

but you can go to far, as with anything you can go to far, if the damage from your fists is so much that he's in a comma for 20 days then it's too much. if he's sprawled out dead on the floor then it's too much. if he's being taken away by an ambulance for rubbing you wrong then it is too much.

the balance here is purpose, violence is a beast, if you let it get out of control it will kill, fast. if you control it, violence could be the best tool anyone has ever had. the way to give it purpose is defense, defense of your family and friends, and defense of the defenseless.
